Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups sugar; 1/2 cup water; 1 1/2 cups plus 1 tablespoon half and half; 1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream; 3/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons sugar; 1 1/2 vanilla beans, split lengthwise; 1 1/2 cinnamon sticks; Peel from 1 1/2 lemons, removed in strips with vegetable peeler; 3 large eggs; 4 large egg yolks; 3 large oranges, all peel and white pith cut off
