Waffles with Frizzled Ham and Maple-Mustard Cream

Ingredients

tablespoons (1/4 stick) unsalted butter

ounces sliced Black Forest ham, cut into 2-inch-long, 1/4-inch-wide-strips

cup whipping cream

1

/4 cup pure maple syrup

tablespoons coarse-grained Dijon mustard

/2 cup thinly sliced green onions

small frozen toaster waffles, toasted; or 4 whole English muffins, split, toasted

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Melt butter in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add ham; sauté until ham is heated through and ends are curled, about 5 minutes. Stir in cream, syrup, and mustard. Simmer until sauce is slightly thickened and coats ham, about 3 minutes. Stir in 1/3 cup onions.

    Step 2

    Top toasted waffles with ham mixture. Sprinkle with remaining onions.
