At Clove Club, they use dandelion and burdock bitters in this winter warmer of a drink. They’re tough to find, though—Angostura bitters are your best bet (and the drink won’t suffer for it).

ounce fresh lemon juice

ounce simple syrup

Preparation
Combine rye whiskey, applejack, lemon juice, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters in a cocktail shaker; fill shaker with ice. Cover and shake until outside of shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds. Pour into a rocks glass filled with ice and top off with club soda. Garnish with a lemon twist.
