Name: Homemade Fig Newtons

Ingredients: ¾ cup all-purpose flour; ¾ cup whole wheat flour; 1 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional); ¾ teaspoon baking powder; ¾ teaspoon kosher salt; 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature; ¼ cup (packed) dark brown sugar; 3 large egg yolks; 3 tablespoons honey; 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; ½ teaspoon finely grated orange zest; 2 pints black figs, trimmed, quartered; ¾ cup fresh orange juice; 6 tablespoons honey; ¼ teaspoon kosher salt; 1 large egg; All-purpose flour (for dusting)
