Revamp a standard BLT with a spread of pimento cheese, toasted under a broiler until bubbling, and layered with crisp bacon and tart fried green tomatoes.

Ingredients

cup shredded mozzarella

cup shredded sharp cheddar

¼

cup mayonnaise

oz. cream cheese, room temperature

Tbsp. chopped roasted red pepper

tsp. hot pepper sauce

tsp. garlic powder

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

ciabatta rolls, split

slices bacon, cooked until crisp

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Mix mozzarella, cheddar, mayonnaise, cream cheese, roasted pepper, hot sauce, and garlic powder in a medium bowl; season with salt.

    Step 2

    Preheat broiler. Spread cut sides of each roll with pimiento cheese. Place rolls, pimiento cheese side up, on a baking sheet and broil until cheese is melted, about 2 minutes. Build sandwiches with rolls, cooked bacon, and fried green tomatoes.

    Do ahead: Pimiento cheese can be made 1 week ahead. Cover and chill.
