Ingredients: 2 3'–4' cinnamon sticks; 3 cardamom pods; 2 whole star anise; 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns; 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon; 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg; 1/4 cup sugar; 1/4 cup (packed) light brown sugar; 2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) unsalted butter; 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise; 1/2 cup heavy cream; 7 ounces plain low-fat Greek-style yogurt; Apples, pears, and persimmons, sliced (for dipping)
