This is Lil' Deb's Oasis's take on "tiger's milk," a Peruvian drink traditionally made from the citrusy marinade of ceviche. Their version features the energizing combo of fresh citrus juice, ginger, and turmeric.

Ingredients

cups fresh orange juice

cup fresh lime juice

3-inch piece turmeric

2-inch piece ginger, peeled, thinly sliced

jalapeño, seeds removed, chopped

garlic cloves

Kosher salt

Chili oil and mint sprigs (for serving)

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Purée orange juice, lime juice, turmeric, ginger, jalapeño, and garlic in a blender until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a glass measuring cup or pitcher; season with salt.

    Step 2

    Divide among glasses and drizzle with chili oil. Garnish with a mint sprig.

    Step 3

    Do Ahead: Leche de tigre can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and chill.
