CrazySexyCool, the biopic on girl group (and, we discovered in a meeting this morning involving "Waterfalls"-esque shoulder moves, Bon Appétit favorite) TLC, debuted on VH1 last night. It was as good as we had imagined it would be, which was not very—although Lil Mama does bear a striking resemblance to the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, the rapper of the group, and might just be the film's breakout star. But its mediocrity (if we're being kind), could never take away our love for TLC. "What About Your Friends" changed our adolescent lives. "Creep" and "Scrubs" empowered us. And "Red Light Special" made us feel all kinds of things. Hell, we dug the entire CrazySexyCool album. Which we had on CASSETTE TAPE.
